HSP Pneumatic & HSO Hydraulic Actuator Series

DVG Automation “HS” Helical Slot actuator series are extremely compact in design and are suitable to operate every kind of quarter turn valve. This high efficiency design that trasform the piston linear movement into a quarter turn rotation make them the ideal solution in case of space-costrained installation like FPSO vessels and platforms, Offloading buoys and manifolds, ESD and High-Integrity Pressure Protection Systems ( HIPPS).

Operating Range
  • Pneumatic operating pressure for the HSP pneumatic series ranges between 3 barg (45 psig) to 12 barg (175 psig)
  • Standard design construction allows operating temperature from -30 degC (-22 degF) to +93 degC (+199 degF)
  • Low temperature option extends operating range down to -60 degC (-76 degF)
Supply Medium

Instrument air, nitrogen, sweet gas.

  • Hydraulic operating pressure for the HSO hydraulic Series ranges between 20 barg (290 psig) to 380 barg (5.500 psig)
  • Standard design construction allows operating temperature from -30 degC (-22 degF) to +93 degC (+199 degF)
  • Low temperature option extends operating range down to -60 degC (-76 degF)
Scotch Yoke
  • Hydraulic oil mineral based. Special versions are available for water based fluids.
  • Reduced footprint within valve template even for spring return actuator
  • Direct coupling to valve top work;
  • The actuator directly fits valve top work with no need for intermediate spool or coupling joint
  • Center of Gravity in line with valve body
  • Parabolic torque profile can be customized by changing slot angle and profile
Environmental protection

Completely enclosed design without external tie rods. Cylinder tube is internally nickel-plated lined (minimum 25µm). External coating provides higher reliability in harsh environmental conditions as per ISO 12944 (Expected Durability) and in compliance with NORSOK M-CR-501 requirements.

Water ingress protection

Totally enclosed and weather-proof actuator is engineered to meet IP66M, IP68M suitable for shallow water application

Materials

Cylinder Tube & all structural parts are manufactured in carbon steel material: no cast/grey iron or aluminium. All pressure containing parts are supplied with 3.1 Certificate according to EN10204. Designed according to PED (97/23 CE) Directive.

Seal

Piston seal design prevents sticking phenomena after prolonged operation-less period and ensures reduced hysteresis and high sensitivity.

Travel Stops

Independent open/close travel stops, adjustable +/- 5°.

Visual indicator

Visual indicator to show the exactly stem valve position stroke, mounted on top of the actuator.

Lifting point

By means of DIN580 eyelets; certified eyelets can be supplied upon request.

Optional Features

  • Hydraulic Hand pump to operate the valve in absence of power supply. The hydraulic cylinder is embedded in actuator case and doesn’t add any extra dimension.
  • Handwheel to mechanically operate the valve in absence of power supply: gearboxes installed on larger size of actuators
